Greetings and salutations Subeta! Do you know what time it is!?!! I'll give you a hint.. Morostide is just around the corner.. and that means it's time to kick off week 3 of my Annual October Giveaway at SubetaLodge!!
With the arrival of Subeautique invites things have changed since we did this last year. Â I was worried at first but thanks to my amazing friends (who threatened to dismember me piece by piece if I mention any names) helping me gather invites I have got a mountain of prizes ready and raring to go for this year's giveaway. Â Other changes have also made it possible to give away a grand prize that is something everyone I know will want to get their hands on! Â I'm so excited! Â This is gonna be EPIC!
Anyone who is a member of SubetaLodge is welcome to enter so please ping your friends, ping random strangers - wait.. still a bad idea, don't do that, but definitely ping anyone you think might like a chance to win free stuff and tell them to sign up!

What is this about?
Cancer, an equal opportunity destroyer. Who you are, what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, if you're single, have a family - doesn't matter. Cancer couldn't care less. There are no boundaries this beast will not cross, no social circles it will not invade. Cancer knows no mercy, forever changing the lives of the people it inflicts as well as those around them without prejudice or restraint. The possibility alone of being diagnosed with one of its many faces strikes fear into the hearts and minds of any and every person on the planet. And we have yet to find a cure.
Like pretty much everybody out there, over the years this beast has invaded my world also. I've lost loved ones to it. I've stood by, unable to do any thing but watch while my friends fight with all their might for a chance at the joy of remission, side effects be damned. Humbled by their strength and determination I've silently wondered.. would I have the moxie to do the same? I'm tough but knowing what they've had to go through, I'm not so sure.
This isn't about pixels or prizes. This is about people. People who have inspired us to live every day like it's your last. People we love, people we've lost, people who are still fighting the fight to make it through another day. People I met right here. These people aren't just names on a website, they're real flesh and blood, and even if I will never meet them in person I've come to love them as family. They are the inspiration behind this. They are the real heroes and they are the ones who lit a fire in my heart to do something that would honor each and every one of them, something that would draw attention to the cause, raise awareness about the disease. I knew what I wanted to do. Getting people thinking about it, talking about it.. that's how you keep the drive alive. I just didn't know how to pull it off. Along came an opportunity to be an item admin for SubetaLodge and voila! The opportunity to host an annual October Giveaway was mine.
It would have something for everyone - Battlers, HA gurus, Collectors, Newbies, Lifers - Subeta et al. There would be books, Subeautique wearables, weapons, cuddly sidekicks and since I honestly believe that we can defeat this beast if we stick together and fight the MC stickers were added to the mix. And of course, pink hugga bears - they were my first pick back then because when I started this there were no pink ribbons. Plus they're bears. One can never have too many bears.
And since you're reading this, its working! I can not thank you enough for joining my plight to raise awareness in the continuing fight to find a cure. By keeping the drive alive the need to eradicate this beast from all of our lives continues to burn brightly. A cure must be found. A cure will be found. Woo ~ thank you for the giveaway! I'm all for fighting cancer since even though it wasn't breast cancer that took them away; my brother died from sarcoma and my mother from small cell lung cancer. Let's kick it's butt or at least give it a run for it's money!

Oh shoot. There are 5 drawings total, one every Sunday in October until Halloween which is when the final drawing takes place. And yes, I do the drawing for prizes every Sunday evening and send them out before pinging the winners.
Its "technically" an annual weekly giveaway for the month of October but that's confusing even to me and I'm the one who hosts it so I shortened it to Annual October Giveaway, I'm sorry if you missed out on week 2.
